The Club's opti team revalidate themselves as the Balearic Champions

The Real Club Náutico de Palma wins the Optimist Team Racing Balearic Championship, out of eight Balearic clubs.

The regatta organised by the Club Nàutic s’Arenal, was sailed with light south west sea breeze of 8 to 10 knots. The competition format has been round robins of only 10 minutes duration.

The club's team was formed by Albert Torres, María Bover, Toni Massanet, Giullietta Lang and Catherine Havenga. The RCNP, Cala Gamba, Andratx and San Antonio de la Playa faced each other in the first round robin. The RCNP won them all and passed on to the second challenge.

After winning also the second round robin, the club's team faced the Club Nàutic Sant Antoni de Portmany for the final. Although the races proved to be exciting the RCNP easily won the final. With this victory the club's opti team revalidates it's tittle won last year.

Sant Antoni de Portmany from Ibiza finished second followed by the Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa who finished third.

The Optimist team of the RCN Palma, coached by Pedro Marí, is completing a succesfull year. Next competition for the club's Opti team is due at the Opti Team Nationals, to be held at Punta Umbría (Huelva).
