A new edition of the Palma-Santa-Ponsa

The local ORC cruising fleet will compete this weekend in a new edition of the Trofeo Palma-Santa-Ponsa with 29 boats. The first start will be at 13:00 in the Bay of Palma this next Saturday. The start on Sunday is scheduled at 12:00 back to Palma.

This regatta is one of the most popular ones of the yearly racing calendar and is organised by the RCNP and with the suppòrt of the Club Náutico de Santa Ponça and the Federación Balear de Vela. Last years' winners were Airlan Aermec, of Juan Cabrer (ORC-1); Presto, of Eduardo Horrach (ORC-2); Tearal, of Antoni Pizá (ORC-3), and January Sails, of Gabriel Català (ORC-4).

Amongst the entries this year we find the classic sailing yacht, Marigan, launched in 1898, who will race against modern yachts for this regatta.
This boat owned by the german member of the RCNP Tim Liesenhoff, and Ballyhoo, of the Swede, Thomas Rudewald, will be the only two foreign competitors for this edition.
