Nacho Postigo wins his first regatta in the Mini Category with his "Dyreco Vamos, vamos"

The RCNP's sailor, Nacho Postigo, wins the regata Solo Roma of 190 miles distance with his Argo Mini named Dyreco, Vamos, vamos. His aim is warm up for the Mini Transat (singlehanded) Atlantic crossing at the end of this year.

The Solo Roma, sailed around the Italian capital and the Islands of Ponza and Ventonente and with departure and arrival in the same harbor has been the first official regatta of Postigo in the Mini Class.
His victory has been a nice surprise as Nacho recognizes, as I still have a lot to learn in single-handed sailing.

Postigo crossed the finish line in first place overall, which has lead him to the victory in two categories: Series, where he competed against boats with the same characteristics as his own and in the Overall category which gathers the whole fleet, included the prototypes which are considered faster boats.

The Solo Roma gathered eleven competitors, all Italian, except for Nacho Postigo and the Hungarian T. Kovács, "Banzai", who won in Prototype category.

This first experience of Postigo with his “Dyreco Vamos, Vamos” is the result of the setting up the boat in Palma and sailing the boat to Italy from Palma, with plenty of unexpected but positive to experience small accidents. During the regatta he even had to stay at the tiller for 39 hours in a row as the pilot broke just at the beginning.

Joan Bonet, commodore of the RCNP, has pointed out the huge merit of this victory and how confident he is in that Postigo and the RCNP will qualify for the Mini Transat in 2015.

Postigo is a recognized sailor in Spain and in the big boat lengths and in professional circuits such as the Med Cup, as co-founder. But to sail alone accross the Atlantic is a new experience for him.
