The RCNP celebrates the 2014 sports awards during a fantastic ceremony presented by Carolina Cerezuela

The Real Club Náutico de Palma has awarded all the 2014 successes obtained by it's athletes in a extraordinary event presented by the actress Carolina Cerezuela. The dinghy, cruising and canoeing athletes of the Team RCNP won 66 medals in national and international competitions. The President of the RCNP, Mr. Javier Sanz has qualified these results as excellent.

The Sports Ceremony is the most important event of the Real Club Náutico de Palma. Mr. Sanz, the president, explains that this year the club has wanted to take a step forward and show how important the sports section is for the yacht club. All the athletes have been awarded a years success.

The president of the RCNP remarked the values the sea gives and how it forms the people in general. He also thanked all the parents that sacrifice their weekend to be by their children day after day.

The most emotive moment of the ceremony took place during the diploma award to the disabled athletes in canoe and sailing categories. Carolina Cerezuela pointed out how important sports is for these people, and how they prove to be a reference for us as the word "impossible" does not exist in their lives.
The Olympic sailor, Iker Martínez sent out a message as he was training in Santander to all the young athletes of the RCNP.

The 66 medals obtained by the Team RCNP, have been; 25 gold, 17 silver and 24 bronze.

HOMENAJE ESPECIAL: ANGEL GRACIA

A special mention to one of the "oldest" members canoeist of the RCNP, Angel Gracia, well known as; Titi. He started the sport in 1971, and has never stopped rowing since then. He has taken part in the clubs boarding committee and in the local association, but also comes every single day to row. He is always rowing or watching how the young ones progress. His life is entirely dedicated to rowing.

The event had a duration of 50 minutes and received 300 guests of which, some important institutions, such as the Governor of Balearic Tourism, Jaime Martínez, and the Sports and Culture Counsellor, Mr. Gilet. A video was shown on a gigantic screen where all the winners were named and their sports successes obtained during 2014.
After the diploma awards the guests were served a cocktail in the tent decorated
for the occasion as a maritime museum with a light house predominating the center.
