Three canoeing teams of the RCNP qualify for the Europeans

Three teams will represent the Real Club Náutico de Palma-Obra Social la Caixa at the Junior European Championship to be held at Poznan (Poland) next month and at the overall Europeans in June to be held in Portugal.

This last weekend Trasona (Asturias), held the Copa de España de Pista Olímpica over 500 and 200 metres, and gatheres the best canoeist of the moment and the country. The qualfying series for the Europeans also took place on the 9 and 10 of May, in the same reservoir.

Adrián Castaño Forteza won in category k-1 A Senior men and K-1 200 meters qualyfing for the Europeans in Paracanoe, for disabled athletes.

Alicia Heredia and Elena Monleón won the silver medal in the Copa de España in the 500 metros, women Senior k-2. Both athletes also qualified themselves for the 1.000 metres distance.

The cadet canoeist Adriana Paniagua and Belén Arnau also qualified for the Junior Europeans for the C1 200 metres and the C2 500 metres.

Víctor Blanes and Xavi Francisco, finished in a tight eight place in Mens Senior k-2 of 200 metres. Carlos Borrás and Alejandro Gallego finished in the final group of k-2 500 metres in Junior Men.

The overall result for the RCN Palma-Os La Caixa has been a good fifth place out of 90 clubs from all over Spain.
