The Armed Forces Regatta prepares its 35th edition

The Real Club Nautico de Palma will hold together with the Naval Base of the Balearic Islands, on the 8th of June the traditional regatta of the Armed Forces.

This trophy hopes to meet one hundred boats in the bay of Palma to celebrate this 35th edition. The regatta is open to any kind of sailing boat as it's aim is to be a sailing party, where boats with ORC and RI rating system, and even boats without rating systems can come to enjoy this day, together with classic boats, one design and "toxos”. Three different categories have been established: dinghy classes, lateen rigged boats and cruising boats) each sailing their own course in the Bay of Palma.

The cruisers will sail a special course for them and the dinghy and lateen rigged boats will sail another one. The scheduled start for the cruisers is at 14.00 h nearby the Real Club Náutico de Palma, heading for a mark layed close to San Juan de Dios to round by starboard, then to el Arenal and back to the mark at San Juan de Dios, this time to round by port, and finally heading for another mark layed in front of the Cathedral. After this mark in front of the cathedral the fleet will have to head for a mark layed in front of Calanova and back to the entrance of the port for the finishing line.

The smallest boats will sail the same course except for the mark at el Arenal.
